I have a '78 FJ40 with 2F engine that I am pulling out of storage to restore. Long term goal is to do a diesel conversion but first I need to get a new carb for the 2F. It has been sitting in storage for close to 10 years and everything is gummed up and not working correctly. I have read about JimC and Mark rebuilds but I will just get a Trollhole carb for now just so I can move it around the shop. My question is: can I just install Trollhole's non-smog carb on my fully smogged system without taking off the smog equipment? Do I need to plug up some ports, lines, etc? Thanks in advance!
