I'm gonna be picking up a JD2 model three bender here shortly and only have the money for 1 die ($260 bucks a piece) for now so I need to pick a good all around size. I'm thinkin 1 3/4 on 5.5 radius would do pretty good for most projects?

1 3/4 is a good size, I personally like my 2" and i also have a 1.5" for smaller connecting bars. I like the insurance the 2" bars give me when i rollover.

I have 1" 3.5"CLR, 1.5" 4.5"CLR and, 1.75" 6.5"CLR. I will be using the 1.75 for my LC but used the 1.5 a lot for my Taco. I think your choice is a good one. If you are going to get one for the LC 1.75 is the one I'd go with.
