No glorious photos like y’all have, but I’ve been riding around the hood more. Some 10 mile after work rides, taking the bikes to dinner or the grocery store. Just keeping the legs moving when I can.

My sister sent a video of her grandson enjoying the freedom of a little BMX bike on his second day of riding. He’s reciting this little mantra.

I taped it to my Yeti for inspiration. At 64 I think I’ll skip the gymnastics part.

Why we ride.

Captured some of the brief moments of sun in Seattle this weekend. Great to get some miles and fresh air. :)

I know you all in the lower 48 have had a fairly mild winter but here in Alaska I’m getting pretty sick of <0F. We had the 2nd coldest December ever documented and will likely have the coldest March on record. I think we have had <7 days since Dec 1 that it has been >10F.

Another Bike ride with the dog yesterday afternoon at -16F.

Normally would have 6'+ snowbanks along here this time of year. Not complaining about being able to bike commute the last few weeks though. Especially with gas around $7/gal around here. Stopped at the post office today to pick up a package with cushcore inserts for my other bikes. Just barely fit over the basket.

First monocog ride of the year today. 10.5 miles with 1500'. Put on a 200mm dropper, whisky carbon fork, and new BB7 brakes (was not a fan of the hydro brakes). Ordered and waiting on a Paul boost disc WORD hub and F hub on some WTB kom tough hoops and White Industries freehub for a new wheelset to fully commit the Japhy to a dedicated Singlespeed

That brown saddle/kashima dropper with the tan walls & frame decals looks amazing.
