Nice 20 miles along the bike path on the lake today

3 good rides in the past week. Little bit of everything but winter has finally hit.

This is about 8500 ft in elevation. Pretty dang dry so far... Made for a pretty good powder day tho. Usually powder = not fun on 2 wheels.

It's been cold! Here's my dog trying to rotisserie in the sun in his drug-rug doncho.

But I caught a break in the weather today. First 3 miles or so was urbanish because I needed to drop-off the outgoing 1096/1099 packages at the post office.

Spotted a tandem Roomba as I was getting close to the dirt. That was a first for me. I'm a more complete human now.

Trails were good. Hit this one pretty hard and drifted all over it with that delicious gravel topping.

Good weather for a quick 20 mile rip, but still cool enough to bust out the best biking britches that didn't mean to be biking britches: Wrangler ATG Convertible Trail Joggers -- and for only like $25!!

Wasn’t into work today so packed up the fatty and hit the snow. Terrible snowpack this year but it made for a fast hard packed ride. Such a fun ride when the trail conditions are prime.

Nice work!!
Thanks man, just trying to hang with you and all that saddle time!

Got out another late day run yesterday. Work was boring me...
Dipped into Brainard lake FED area and rode to the top. Took advantage of the government shutdown(no one to harass me) and weekday and not a soul in site.

Hit some snow at the top of Wapiti, I'm hoping it stacks up even though the riding is amazing right now. It was just enough for an fast ride and I was able to still see and track on the hardpack for one of the top rides of the year. This section of Wapiti sees alot of traffic and flows so good. Good for the soul.

I have not ridden much in 2026. Work, family, blah blah blah. On top of that i've had some stitches in my mouth this week and have been eating a lot of milkshakes. I think the shakes have filled close to 2 tera bites of storage in my body. So when I went to zip up my lycra shirt, I thought the zipper would split. When it didn't, I wondered if the stitching in the seams would hold. It's an old jersey. Somehow they did, so I went out for a ride looking like that sausage on the grill right before it bursts and spews the grease.

22 mi dirrrrty

Picked up a dream bike that’s been on my list for 10-12 years a little while back. Tore it all down and built it back up. I finally got it rideable this week so I’ve been tooling around on it and feeling things out. Not quite 100%, but it rides!

Yesterday I ran some errands on it then did a big loop around City Park here in Denver. I’ve got maybe 20 miles on the bike so far this week. This one was built for comfort over long distances with the option for non-paved surfaces, so one of these weekends I might get it out for a nice half or full day ride.

I also took my MTB out for a jaunt through City Park earlier this week too. The Maxxis Ikons aren’t so knobby that riding on pavement sucks so it’s a valid city ride, although kinda slow.

Did the 30K sweep for the local running race today. Bit smarter this year and brought the Revel full-squish vs. a hardtail SS like last year. 😂😂. My back likes me more for it. I’m starting to get full-squish as a good option as I am now in my 50’s.

I bet you would like a dropper post even more on that single track but 170mm/ 150mm is the way to go at 50+... I can't wait for my 260mm/ 285mm of suspension on the way for the dirt bike this spring. I don't get how people do the hard tail, not for me. I do ride pretty technical stuff tho.

Rode to the top of the rock pile to take in the view

Not a person in sight on a cool Saturday morning ride. Working on breaking a sub 2 hour ride. Last ride for a week or two tho.... Common snow.
