Finally getting some weather here again after recording zero precip for the month of March (first time in recorded history). Been too sloppy and wet for my ass to go for a ride, but I went out to pick my frame up from being repaired. Probably just going to rattle can it once the weather clears but I'm stoked to put it back together and get out for more bikepacking.

That's weird. Must have been location dependent. I had over an 1.5-inch of rain on the 31st at my house in Meyers. And then on the 1st more rain/snow and wind gust over 50-mph that took power out for about 24-hours. That was an intense storm those two days that downed a lot of trees. A massive tree went down on our neighbors house.

It's a slight technicality based on when they measure precip at the Donner summit snotel. We def got some rain starting in the afternoon on the 31st (too late to officially be counted) and on the 1st into the morning of the 2nd. We also had some insane winds 140+ at the top of Alpine Meadows and was easily gusting 60+ around my house. We also had a tree fall on our house, thankfully it was small-ish and caused minimal damage. The top of the tree actually broke off on the crest of the roof, flew off the other side of the house and smashed my housemates taillight.

Gf and I took advantage of a beautiful quiet weekday for a nice road ride

Beautiful. I rode some of that road once (from Tahoe City to the turn-off to 267). Takes serious balls that I don't have anymore. Vehicle traffic was heavy and tight. If there's a next time I'll go on the gravel/dirt back way over the mountain from Tahoe City to Northstar.

The 06/fiberboard is a great ride! There's a ton of singletrack back there now too.

I've only done the loop around the lake a couple times for that same reason. Weekdays in the shoulder season, with an early start is definitely the way to do it. Theres no way I would ever try it on a weekend in the summer/early fall.

There is a organized ride in early June around the Lake. Lanes are closed to vehicles around Emerald Bay and along the east NV side where there is no bike lane. Plus the bikes kinda take over the roads. This is the only time I will do the ride.

Do you know when this is? I've always wanted to ride around Tahoe and I will be in the area in early June.
