Been riding to work most days the last few weeks, and we do a care swap at work 2x a week when I take daughter in and start late as wife is working.

She's got used to being in the trailer, and loves it, and has also learnt to spot my riding gear coming out and grabs it to take outside - her helmet is out of her reach, otherwise it would be used as a toy!

So this morning, she's snaffled my helmet, and taken it to the trailer:

Where she's then tried to put it on:

With a great deal of success for being a days off 17 months old...

Gave the Salsa some much needed love. New cassette, chain, front chainring, bottom bracket and cranks. Swapped the 27.5 2.2 wheelset in anticipation for an upcoming bikepacking trip. Took it out for a test ride of a pleasant 35 miles along the lake. Crazy how much smoother the drivetrain feels now.

You going to be at Lost and Found in Portola in June? I'm rolling up to hang with Falconer and do the ride.

Hadn't considered it, but sounds like it could be a good time! Good excuse to take the firetruck camping and ride some bikes! I've done a bunch of bikepacking around there but would like to explore more of the singletrack

it’s getting hot by around 11:00 so we only did about 15km each day so we don’t die

and yes everything in the desert 🏜️ is designed to pop your tires or put holes in you!!

Lots of city riding and commuting the past couple weeks.

This was a few blocks from Mile High Stadium yesterday. Lots of people walking around in big groups and I thought “there must be a football game today” before I remembered it was a Saturday in March. Denver launched their new women’s pro soccer team with their first game yesterday. 63,000 tickets sold, hence all the people.

not much and it is melting quickly...
We had some really low snow winters in the mid 70’s when I was really young. My dad always talked about working on installing snowmaking a bunch of places in those times.

We have had a brutally cold winter in south central AK. Normal to slightly low snowfall but cold. I think we had <7 days between December 1st and end of March that it was >5F at my house.

Got home to my usual welcoming committee after work today - they track me from the Garmin LiveTrack - and then had my helper push the bike up the garden with me:

she grabs whatever she can and helps! Today it was the bottle cage, other days it's the downtube, pedal, or even helps to roll the back tyre sometimes.
