well, lessee. Let's say the batteries are "18V" and 4Ah each. 4 of them. 18V average. Nah, let's call those 20V to make Dewalt and its customers happy. That's 320Wh. The inverter is advertised at 1800W it seems. So it would run at 1800W for errr... 11mins... No no, they say, they really should be 5Ah. OK, then, 14 mins...

but back to the topic at hand. I was watching some review videos about the Dewalt tools and sure enough most of the time they call them "my 20V tools"... It worked!

It's not a brilliant move.... as someone else said, it's like buying stereo equipment that provide a "max" rating. It works for equipment built by Sony and for those who think they're getting quality equipment, but those who want quality built equipment don't buy Sony amplifiers. I have an amp that says "1000w" and in reality it's in the 900w rms @2ohm, 1ohm stable. If you're out to buy a cheap amp Sony is fine - but a Sony "1000w" amp isn't going to compare to an amp properly rated.

Dewalt has built their name as a quality brand, as Sony did, but if they head down the path of "advertising" and deception then they will find that the quality of the tools are subpar. Fine for some, but those who want quality could steer clear.
