Did some camping over the weekend near mt. hood. Camped at a place called devils half acre. We were planning on camping at badger lake, but hit some heavy snow going over the hood pass. Since the trail to badger peaks at 5500ft, and the lake/campground is at 4500ft, I didn’t want to get snowed in.

Devils half acre is roughly 3500-4000ft elevation. There was a little slush/snow mix in the meadow just outside the campsite when we got there. By Saturday morning, about 6-8 inches of fresh powder had fallen on us.

Had a blast driving the Barlow trail to do some fishing Saturday day, and driving out. Hit about 10-12inches of snow on the upper elevations of the Barlow trail heading home.

Anyways, here are the pics.

1. government camp driving through Friday night
2 and 3. Saturday morning fresh powder
4. our tarped camp setup
5. white river fishing, only 5 miles from camp

Yeah, that looks awesome. Not much like that in Kansas. Unless you keep your eyes low and off the horizon, then some of it looks like that. : ). Ha ha. Good pics.

nice shots there. i'm just waiting for the snow to fall up here in the northern cascades. doesn't look like that will happen soon. its 70+ degrees right now in seattle, and the snow is melting in the passes.:crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:

I could use some snow wheelin' about now.....course I just moved back to Hotlanta so I guess I should be prepared to drive pretty far to get to some.
