I'm looking at purchasing a Detroit TrueTrac Locker set For a KZj70

Can anyone help identify from the list below which locker I would need for the front I do not understand the anyone between 2 & 4 pinion?

I'm 99% sure I need the 913A610 for the rear (as this is what other forum members have used) but am really unsure on the front. How many pinion is the front locker?

Can anyone help shed light on this?

Hi all,

It depends on which differential your KZJ70 has - the 8 inch, or 9.5 inch.

The Hilux uses the 8 inch diff. B/F/H Series Land Cruisers use the 9.5 inch.

I'm assuming the K Series are light-duty Land Cruisers, like the L and R Series, which run Hilux drive train parts.

Regarding 4 spider gear versus 2 spider gear, the 4 spider version is for full-floating axles, but in reality either version can be used in a front axle application (4 spider gear is stronger.)

You are aware that the TruTrac is just a limited-slip device, not a true locking differential? Seems like a lot of $$ for limited performance.

Good luck,

Alan

Hi the KZJ70 run a 8" solid axle diff front & rear, do you mean the same locker can be used in the front? I believe its more or less the same parts as a Hilux

Hi all,

What I'm saying is that whatever fits in the rear differential will also fit in the front diff. I'm not sure whether the 4 spider gear locker will fit and work in the Hilux rear diff.

Regards,

Alan

I have returned from New York & purchased the following EATON TRUETRACS 1 x 913A609 (REAR) & 1 x 913A610 (FRONT).

Rather than chiselling off my old bearings has any one got any references OEM or bearing supplier codes for the bearings required that will need pressing on? The rear bearings are need to slip over 50mm carriers and the front are 45mm carriers I believe.

The specialists I spoke to in the states states that fitted these to the front & rear shouldn't cause any drive/steer problems.
