Iam thinking of a detroit locker in the rear and a detroit truetrac in the front of my 91 fj80....I know everyone is gonna say arb and I know thats good but a bit rich for my blood, so would the detroit combo be ok..I dont drive it much on the street mostly for camping and hunting, will that combo cause problems? just need some advice.

thanks

No problems assuming you convert to part time and install manual hubs. I'll be going Detroit in the rear of my 80 eventually.

I bought my 91 with the detroit in the rear and a retrofitted elocker up front. I love the Detroit! However, it is a total PITA to get it in with a semi-floater. The fit makes it nearly impossible to get the c-clips in. I fixed that by going to a FF rear. I never feel it except when turning tight in low range at idle it tends to make the rear end feel as if it were welded. I had lockrights in a 40 and 55 and in my opinion they do not compare. I haven't had a problem in snow while wheeling but haven't driven it in icy conditions. Mine is a pretty dedicated wheeler. I like the e-locker up front (especially now since I have finally got it cleaned up and working again).
