Old rad is kaput quoted $500 big ones to re-core and I said ouch. So I am in need of a new rad or newer rad.

Extreme Bends (EBI) sells aftermarket rads for you. Or you can have a rad shop take a standard aftermarket FJ60 radiator and have them swap the filler & top hose mounts.

Total cost should be under 1/2 of what you were quoted!
