Desperate for Immediate Help in Scituate - Today

Hello guys. I am caught between a rock and a hard place on this lovely Saturday afternoon in Scituate, and seeking some help.

About 6 months ago, I decided to have an fj40 restored. Well it arrived yesterday, but is having some carb problems. The carb needs to be adjusted (its brand new from sor).

The real problem is that I have entered the car into the Fathers Day Car show in Hyannis (this is my first fathers day), and invited about 20 people from all over the country to come down to the car show. Most are coming, but at this point, I will not be, unless of course I can get this carb adjusted and the car running.

I know the basics of the carb, but not 100% how to fix it. I am willing to pay someone a fair price plus a case of beer, to come down and fix this for me today.

Hey David,

Welcome to YT and very sweet 40 you have there. I'm not a carb guy but maybe someone on here will chime in with suggestions. Do you have a 2F motor with the oem carb? How about a factory service manual? I have a '82 FSM you could borrow.

He's a toyota specialist so I believe he does. He's across from Sullivan tire on Rte 139. Super nice guy

JSALTICK, Thank you so much for the info. I went down there, on saturday. They were closed, but the motorcyle inspection place next door was opened. The guy who was running it called Greg, who came down a couple of hours later. He spent about 4 hours here, working on the truck. What I suspected was a carb issue turned out to be something else. This car had been sitting for about 15 years in the back of a Police Station. I believe with an open gas tank. It seems that there are a couple of dead animals in the tank, which keep on clogging the fuel filter with decaying animal. Gonna bring it down there today, to have them clean it out, and fix a couple of minor issues. Didnt make it to the car show, but came damn close.

I truly appreciate your assistance on this.....By the way, Greg says hello.
