Can anybody in the area help a fellow noob cruiser out?

I desmogged my '84 fj 60 according to Jim C diagrams and multiple searches and readings of the threads, so i'm pretty sure all my vacuum hoses have been rerouted correctly; however, I have no real acceleration up hill or flat road.......I have not recurved the dizzy or tweaked the carb in any way. I have not checked the timing because i simply don't know how and lack the tools necessary.

Oh, by the way, i just replaced my intake/exhaust manifold due to a crack where the carb sits....should i have done something to the carb after removing and replacing it back on multiple times?

Thanks in advance!

sounds like maybe something is wrong with the intake manifold (vac leak) possibly you did not clean the old gasket well enough or too much and gouged the metal????????? just a thought

Since it is de-smogged, there really aren't that many vac lines so i'm pretty sure i dont have a leak BUT i did find out my vacuum adv. diaphragm wasn't functioning. Bought a new one from cruiserdan and now just waiting to install. Have an exhaust leak underneath the exhaust pipe flange which is going to be welded tomorrow morning. Just bought new spark plugs , dizzy cap, and rotor......i'll inform anybody who's interested how this might alleviate my problem.

Thanks for the help!

Just got the vac. diaphragm and the cruiser runs great...just need to fix timing now. Thanks for the advice!
