For Christmas dinner this year I am leaning towards serving deep fried Tri-Tip. The plan is to cook one with just salt and pepper, and two with an injection of spices, much like the BBQ smokers use. I will use Peanut oil just like used for frying a Turkey.

Has anyone done this with success? Any suggestions?

What about cooking times?

I am thinking and internal meat temperature of 110 or so as the meat will continue to cook until it cools down from the hot oil.

Thanks,

BigJim

Oh and Merry Christmas

I don't know. I aint serving Prime Rib again cause I am bored with it. Suggest something else I can serve that my family will like, we all like BigJims Tri-Tip and we want to piss off the MIL.

So tell me meat boy what else should I serve?
