I dunno about fried tenderloin - I don't see why it would be bad.

Lightly fried lobster tails are the s***.
 
so you are saying that fried tender is better than grilled?

man, that is tough. i didn't really think about that.

if you live in a region where nobody knows what tri-tip is (not a common name or maybe they just grind that s*** up), what would a more specific name be for it?
I googled it, but I suspect that telling the butcher that I'm looking for a nice NAMP 185D isn't going to get me very far
