I have been trying to find decently priced steel wheels similar to the OE on the FJ but have been greatly unsuccessful. Any ideas of what brand, used or new, where I could find them?.

Sounds good! they look pretty good!

I've been running those Wheelers Pro-Comp steelies for a year now with the heavier "E" rated blackwall Firestone Destination MT mud tires and they're GREAT!!

One guy had a problem with his being out of round, but that's the only case of issues I've heard of.

They ARE VERY heavy, but I've bottomed out pretty hard at times, and the wheels are holding up GREAT. I thought wheels this cheap would be showing some rust by now, but none so far. Very good quality for the $$ (shipping is a little pricey because of the weight).

Just make sure the tire shop has a really good Hunter or equivalent balancing machine.

Thanks a lot for the info guys! I currently have 265/70R17 Wrangler Silent Armors on the alloy wheels and they are great, but I'm getting 285's MT/R's for the steel. Already scratched one of the originals, doesn't feel good; we'll see how these work out!

Is rust a common problem with the steelies? How are yours holding up?

Rust in peace!

Rust + cheap steel = BAD!!

That's why all those FIATS would rust out in the USA- Cheap Russian steel!

Mine are showing no problems at all...and I'm in the NE (salt and sand on the roads). Those are great wheels for the $$. It's the shipping that eats up that "good deal" because they're so heavy.
