Everywhere that I've looked has stated that the toyota and the 4wheel drive rear decals were located on the pass. side of the tub. However mine were clearly on the left side - I sandblasted the tub so no holes were filled in and noted then.

Is this right or has anyone other than myself seen this and maybe send me somewhere to find the correct decals for my '66.

I am not at my usual computer, so I don't have all my pics, but somewhere here on mud there is the second picture of this then new '66 (Hopefully Johnny will post it). If I remembered correctly, it still had plastic covers on the seats, and showed that the decals you are talking about were indeed on the left hand side

Theye were on the driver's side in 66. Didn't move to the passenger's side until 75 when the spare tire got move to the driver's side. Then still stayed on the driver's side for a few more years on the factory soft top models. This was the North America market. Things were different at different times in other markets around the world.

True ;) ....
my BJ43 build in December 1979 in Japan have them on the driver side and the spare tire on the right.... different markets different configuration.

Try Toyota...I just got a new grill embelem for my 69?

Just be sure to say it a later 69 not a 66. Toyota parts info no longer goes back before 3/69. The 4X4 Emblem was the same for al ot of years. I believe this changed around 79. I think it had to di with how it mounted. 12/74 and earlier would be correct if ordering the "TOYOTA" emblem from your Toyota dealer here in the US. This one has a curve to match the tub. In 75 with the side change the curve changed too.
