It was discussed at the last meeting that a Snow Run on Saturday Dec 31st will happen if the weather permits.

The group will leave the Prince Mart on the East side of Lemoncove at 8:00am. (This used to be the Texico.) If you have to fuel up, get a burrito or a cup of coffee, please do so earlier so everybody leaves on time at 8:00am. Many will get there at 7:30.

We will be going up towards Whitiker Forest. (sp?) The trail leader will decide on the route getting there.

Weather permitting means a few things:
1. No snow up there means no run. No need to drive around on a dirt/mud road.
2. If it is raining down here in the valley, the weather conditions can be horrible up on the mountain. We do not want anybody driving off the side of the mountain because the road cannot be seen.
We will not know either of these until the night before or the morning of.

Items to make sure you pack in addition to your normal OHV Gear and recovery gear:
Tow Strap
Shovel for shoveling snow
Warm Gloves
Food for all of the occupants of your vehicle
Water and beverages.
Wear/Bring warm clothes
Bring extra clothes. There is nothing worse than wearing wet clothes in the cold weather.
Appropriate footwear. You feet will freeze if you are wearing tennis shoes and they get wet.
A way to communicate. Several have CB's, a few have 2-meter and several have walki-talkies. As long as we can all communicate somehow even by using a person as a possible relay we should be good.

In the years past, several have stopped on the way back at the snow area for the kids to play and go sledding. It is always a fun and memorable experience for the kids but please tell the Trail Leader or the Tail Gunner if you are going to do this. I know, it sounds ridiculous and maybe controlling but spending hours looking for a rig that possibly slid off the side of the mountian can be avoided if we know you are at the snow play area.

I'm sure I'm forgeting something so Please feel free to post up.

I'm planing on being up there that day. If there is no snow we will be heading up to power line road above Hume. I may join you guys.

Where is the snow play park at? I've promissed the kids to take them on my RDO. I usally don't go to the Mts in the winter, as I'm working or chasing Ducks.

Don't look like there is going to be much snow as of right now. And I wont make it, we will be visiting family in San Diego.
