Recalls still need to ok'd by the owner of the vehicle before performed

Recall was because the DRL's were too bright. A resistor was added to lower power to the DRL's. It's located on the passenger side inner fender panel about a foot forward of the firewall...it's a black perforated metal box with a 2-wire connector. I'd guess you could go back to pre-recall fix by opening the metal box and soldering a short 12 or 14 gauge jumper across the resistor. I removed the resistor box from my LX, no DRL's and no trouble codes. On 2-lane rural roads, I drive with HID low beams.

Steve, NYCruiser et al. would you mind taking a pic or sourcing one, showing this mod/recall. I looked and can't find that "device" and it sounds easy to spot. Maybe I never had it done or perhaps my idea of inner vs outer or 1ft forward of vs backwards varies! ;) I never thought my lights were to bright? I would be appreciative as I'd like to know. tia.
