 I've been cruisin this site for awhile and decided it was time to jump in and start posting. I'd like to ask for some tech support on this one.
I have a 1988 fj62 that i've been restoring. Something is draining the battery again and again. I have re charged the battery several times and also replaced it. It will start for a couple of day's and then nothing. I checked all accs. , radio ect..
I also replaced alternator. This cruiser is sitting most of the time.
any help would be great.

Thanks

is there possibley starter draw? try a search you'll get tons

I have in the past gotten a crappy battery, it could be you just got a bunk "new battery"

Check your grounds, make sure they all have good connections

Whe you recharge you battery do you use a charger? or do you jump it and let it run for a while?

The wierdest battery drain issue I ever had, were loose wires on the starter that would kill my battery real quick ie. over night.

Good luck
Lex

Pull your key out of the ignition, put a volt meter on the battery to see how many volts are beeing drawn away from the battery, best to start when you know the battery is fully charged.

Try Pulling Fuses

I had an FJ 162 988 that would lose its charge within a day or so. I pulled fuses one at a time until I found that the radio/interior light one was the culprit. I never found the acutal problem but I suspect that it had to do with the PO aftermarket radio installation.
