Surprised to have my alternator die yesterday on my 06 with 70 K miles.
Now thinking about replacement. Usually just use the toyota stuff but didn't know if anyone had done any of the high output alternators. I have also seen some threads on mixed reviews of the rebuilt alternators.
I did a search and found info on DC power engineering high output alts. It seems that there needs to be a slight bit of grinding on the power steering pump bracket to get it in. Anyone care to elaborate a bit more?? I know there are mean green alternators as well. Any other options folks are using.
Disappointed though as it was the first time one of my trucks left me stranded with my family on board.
