I just talked to DC fab today, they are willing to discount 20% off their rear bumpers if we are able to get 5 participants. Comes out to $1700 with dual swing outs excluding the Rubicon Jerry can basket/ladder, their normal price is $2130. There will be further discount for a raw bumper, no powder coating, I'm "guessing" it cost about $150 to get it powder coated, buying it raw will save them a trip since they out source it.
If you are in SoCal, I might consider renting a trailer to haul them down, you can pick it up in OC or Santa Clarita. At first I spoke with him regarding a 50% deposit, but he called back a few hours later and request for full payment before commencing work. If you are out of state, you will have to pay for shipping but the upside is no tax.
You can pay him directly, of course he prefers cash or paypal gift.

details and discussions from some whom have it.

So far we have 3 interested parties, only need 2 more to achieve our group buy discount.
Please share this with anyone you know that want a rear bumper!!!

Thank You

I'm down for one...Rear bumper standard with no spindles or swingout (smooth) just need a total price..lol

Don't want in, just wanted to say I'm the proud owner of the DC Fab 80 series prototypes (bumpers and sliders). Pics of the truck are still on his website. I work with his brother who he built the armor for. I purchased the vehicle from him a while ago.

I've beat the bumpers and sliders up pretty good and I have zero complaints. You guys are getting a great product.

I might be interested. Does the rear crossmemeber have to be taken off like the 4x4 labs?

Yes it does have to be removed, not many fabricator go around it

Hello,
This is Nguyen, I have been in contact with Donald at DC to organize this group buy. It seems we have some misunderstanding, the information you posted here is much different from what was discussed on the phone.

1. per our phone conversation, you asked me to get a list of what kind of swing outs people want. Now you want to make everyone order the same bumper, same swing out layouts.
- We also have people in the group buy that wants front bumper and not the rear.
2. Per phone conversation, bare metal was an option if we are picking up the bumper from your shop. No powder coating will be less work for you and faster turn around time on the bumper. Per Donald, he talked to the owner and got the OK, I was still waiting for the price of powder coating to subtract from the discounted price.
3. Shipping was quoted $180-$200 for Southern California, is $265 quote for out of state buyers? It's not applicable for me but I want to be clear and fair for out of state mudders.
4. Payment was set at 50% nonrefundable deposit, later changed to 100%, I don't see how this provide security for the buyers.
If someone decide to drop out, you still have their deposit which is enough to pay for material and labor. You can turn around and sell the bumper for full retail price, you practically got a free bumper to sell at retail price.
- With that said, I don't mind doing 100% but if others are not willing then we will not have a group buy at all.
5. Per our phone conversation, payments can be made individually and directly to you. California buyers can pay in cash and no sales tax, this was clearly stated and highly stressed. I don't understand the change or see the benefits by making it mandatory for us to via paypal service/product.

I can't speak for everyone, but mandatory powder coating and sales tax is a deal breaker for my friend and I and hindering this group buy. I do not want to have to redo the powder coating after 1 trip to the John Bull trail, I rather paint it and be able to touch up when it gets scratched. If you want to charge a reasonable price to spray paint it then do so, but I simply do not want it powder coated. I hope you can reconsider, as our previous terms were more enticing to join the group buy.

I want in on this group buy. However, I'm not compromising on how I want my bumper configured. As long as no one is expecting a custom setup at the discounted rate, I'm not sure why that would be one of the terms of the group buy????

I hope this works out.

Alright everyone, you should all send beer money and thank you cards to Nguyen. After a conference call between us here in cali we came up with this. For the month of December, ALL FJ80 products on our site will be 20% off, Shipping is flat rate, front bumpers and rears without swingouts will be 249.00, shipping for rears with swingouts will be 265.00, and shipping for combos is 418.00 all within the lower 48 U.S. only. Our products will remain powder coated as always. We will need no less than a 50% non refundable deposit per order, payments can be made via paypal, cash, cashiers check, or visa, master, discover. Please contact us through our normal e-mail, we will not respond to mud mail.

I just got off the phone with DC fab, we were able to iron it out.
Deposit is nonrefundable 50% for buyer security, shipping is $265 flat rate in the lower 48, $55 for residential address.
Swing out configuration needs to be discussed to figure out what everyone wants.

@Chappee Thanks DC Fab for working with us, we appreciate your compromise, hard work and beautiful design.
To all the mudders above whom have showed interest or in need of a rear bumper, this is the latest update, I will no longer send follow up PMs, if you have questions please ask here.
Please take a few minutes to read the thread and decide if you want to join.
If you are in SoCal or in between , you will save a lot of money on shipping and tax.
I forgot to ask how long it will take to finish all the orders, I will do so tomorrow.
For those who want the Swing out with the ladder ($398) + swing out basket ($185) combo, that is $585 total minus the 20% discount = $468
