Daytime Running Lights Buggerd Up

So the normal DRL are with the hi-beam on a lower output (through a resistor). For no particular reason the hi-beams DRL's are not working but the low-beam headlight are on in place of the hi-beams. This is the DD and it not a big deal but I'd like to know what's happened. All the bulbs in the head lights are OK and the light switch is set to "Auto". 2007 BTW.

Anyone have this happen to them?

You say it is set to "Auto". Have you turned the switch to off and if so, do the DRL work correctly? My guess would be the sensor on the dash as failed in a "safe" mode to where the results are the lights are always on, like the "On" feature.
