Dash trim removal (ashtray/12 volt panel in dash)

I'm looking for a place to mount my prodigy p3 brake controller, and I'd like to put it in the dash where the ashtray currently sits. What would be the easiest way to remove that panel to clearance out/remove the ashtray slide parts, so I can put the P3 there?

@stevezero the plastic trim up the center console/around the hvac etc pops off, and from there you can get to the ashtray easily. This Youtube video shows how to do it:

sweet. I may take a stab at that tomorrow. Its actually cold here today....only 94 today.......
