I have a consistent chirp squeak. This is the second 80 series I've had the exact same squeak in. I just purchased my 95 and it has the same sqeak. I was never able to diagnose with my 97. It's driving me insane and the best option I could think of was to video it and post it to see what luck i'd get here. If anyone recognizes it please tell me how to fix it. thanks!

I know it's a short video but it sqeaks every time I go over the slightest bump in the road so it squeaks all the time when I'm driving it.

You might have to watch it a couple times and crank the volume but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have asqueek that sounds like that, and its coming from the passanger dash mounted air vent. If the passanger hold their finger on the vent it stops.

Please update this with what you find. Mine has the same issue in the summer months. In the winter it disappears. It sounds like it's coming from deeper inside the dash than the vent, but maybe pressure on the vent keeps a connection inside the dash from moving.

It does seem like it’s even behind the glovebox but I’m driving myself crazy not being able to pin point anything closer. When it gets a little warmer I’ll take the glove box out and poke around.

The culprit was actually the metal protection plate under the steering wheel. I had to take that part of the dash off for another repair and I bumped that plate and heard my squeak. It mounts metal directly to metal. I took it off, cleaned it extremely well and placed thin rubber pieces between where the metal touches and it completely gone.

I will try this later this week. I have a squeak that incoming from that area and this makes sense. I’ll let you know.
