i dont really understand whats going on here, but i always thought a C130 would make one hell of an RV.

No doubt, I'd love to have my own C130, you could fly your truck anywhere! Hell if you're real crazy, you could para-drop it out the back without even landing! lol

25 million pounds of scrap, and not one bidder? I bid ONE DOLLAR!

-Spike (Oh, there is that $50,000.00 bidder deposit to consider...)

Howdy! In a previous life, I spent a great deal of time with C130's. They are undoubtedly the Landcruiser of the Air! John

Just got to love the goverment. These planes must be usable for them to have spent all the time and money to mothball them. But if you buy them they must be shreading off base, with in twenty-fives miles. I'm sure there must be a couple hunderd venders set up to do this right off the base. This is the best use for this planes, get about three cents a pound for scrap metal. Why would the goverment want to convert these aircaft that were probably over maintained for one that might have been maitained by some airline that was on it's way to going bellyup and was looking for ways to cut corners.

John

Because they are former military planes. Probably because they don't want F-14s in the hands of civilians. Even if they are former fighter pilots. Liablility issues...

Just like you can no longer get a humvee. Sucks, but it is what it is.
