No, I'm not her. But she could use our help! I'm an XJ wheeler from CO4x4, so I don't know much about 'Yotas. So I need your opinions and expertise.

4 days ago Von (Yvonne, the damsel) was hit on the front pass side corner hard enough to bend the frame. The culprit left the scene, and her sitting in the middle of the intersection in the wreckage of what was a nice looking '97 Tacoma (the distress).

Q: how to maximize what's left in order to buy another vehicle?

1. Would it work as a trail rig dispite the frame?
2. Sell the everything intact to someone who'd want to part it out?
3. Part it out. (Maybe she could leave a bucket of tools under the truck and people could take off what they need :)

Specs/ Condition
2.7L with 80k
4x4 5 Spd. Manual Drive train with 143k, (excluding engine)
Bedliner, bench seat (no holes), Driver side door and fender Ok. BFG A/T but not much tread left on stock wheels.

That's all I know for now
All ideas, insights, suggestions welcomed.

Posting pictures of the damage and undamaged truck would help better the evaluation.
What is the insurance company giving for the truck? If it is totaled, maybe buy it back & trail rig it...who knows.
Good luck!
