Wife backed up and hit a tree hard w/ drivers mirror. The camera, reverse tilt and folding still work. The entire mirror is now slightly loose and I can move it around a little, not the bracket that mounts to the door but the main mirror assembly, the part that folds. From the way I can move/flex it I am guessing that the main plastic piece inside the mirror is cracked. Anyone have experience w/ this situation. Seems like I have three options:

1. Replace entire mirror assembly for $900, not really wanting to do this.
2. Replace Retractor Assy (Part #87966-60J80) and hope this is the part that is broken, the piece that holds the actual mirror. Anyone know if this part should fix it? Image below.

3. Open up the mirror and try and epoxy whatever is broken

Also, if I go w/ option #2 do I need to pull door panel and entire mirror to replace internal piece or can it be done with the mirror on the door?

Anyone have tips on mirror disassembly? I have the FSM and it looks like removing the outer cover is a PITA

I just picked up our '13 Land Cruiser from LTS tonight. The retractor motor on the passenger side needed replacement.

Replacement motor was ~ $450, labor took that out the door for ~ $520. No way to fix the mirror unless it's removed from the door.

I do all maintenance on the truck but reading about mirror removal and replacement here I figured the job was out of my league...like a windshield R & R. If you issue is the mirror adjustment motor, you looking at ~ $600.

2-day delivery on parts. Shop mirror expert advised that mirror plastic guts tend to get brittle on older 200's, so go slow. He also said he gets about one a month and this area is Cruiser world...It took an hour and a half.

I found the Retractor Assy is only $160 online, this includes the motor piece. Also, found a video here Builds - Got a 200 - Here it goes - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/got-a-200-here-it-goes.1112630/page-7#post-13672252 of replacing the internals, looks like a pain. Also, noted that the motor piece is metal so now I am doubting that is my problem. Guess I will need to take the glass and outer cover off to see what is actually broken, I am thinking I might be needing the whole assembly now.

Thanks for that link, very helpful. I think the broken piece is actually the main plastic body, right at the pivot point so probably will try to epoxy it.

Maybe E bay. I got lucky finding a right side mirror for the Lexus when I backed out of the garage and missed.

left side is always more plentiful than right.

Yeah, already set up a search on eBay.
