Anyone have one of the G3 dog crates by Dakota (one piece & door has a locking paddle latch)? Getting a puppy in the next couple weeks and need a crate, and these look pretty good. Also considering the Impact and Rock Creek collapsible crates. Wondering if anyone has RL experience with them.

TIA

Raised all our Lab puppies with wire crates with metal trays. Easy to clean and collapsible for storage (for the next pup), and when they outgrew them we bought larger ones that we use for trips and dog shows. Not especiallly pretty but functional and relatively inexpensive, even for the better ones.

I've always used a vari-kennel or wire mesh. Our last Golden had HORRIBLE separation anxiety and destroyed the wire mesh crate we had. After a 18month "break" in dog ownership, we are about to be paw-rents again, and need to pick up new car and home crates. Got some valuable input on the Dakota crates from the breeder, and won't be going that direction (just not big enough for a Newfie - even a pup will run out of space in just a few months). Hate the look of the Rock Creek crates, but they are crash tested and have good reviews.

Sorry that happened with your Golden. We never experienced that, thank goodness. The Rock Creek crates sure look stout.

Look forward to pics of your pup!
