the valley, yeah that one
finally some pics of the dakar/emu setup on the "tootsie roll"- did it on a Sunday afternoon (3-4 hours) with two floor jacks, two stands, a little help from my "assistant", and no broken fingers... rides much better than the MAF stock height springs with add-a-leafs that I installed last year (old ones for the first hundred bucks) and also rides a little higher up too. best part is the cornering, way better...

that looks nice. how many inches total lift did you get? did you use OME shackles? i'm getting closer to pulling the trigger on my suspension upgrade. it's good to hear it makes a difference.

also, what's the story with your front/rear bumpers?

ANSWERS: tires are 31's, but will have 33's eventually. Total lift over stock-around 3" with emu shackles. Front bumper is powdercoated with a matching pre-runner bar I made at my school for around thirty bucks. Rear bumper was also made at school, but not PCed, had a tire carrier that swung out for the rear, but I broke it in Baja and eventually threw it out- needs more time on design in order to be strong enough to go sixty MPH on a dry lake...

Swank....you see the pics of my BDS? At work and don't have a pic to post here.

Oh no...trying to decide between the OME and the BDS. BDS = mo money, but they have a lifetime warranty against sag. How sick is that?

FYI.. They don't warranty against sag.. only against breaking. If it sags, and you break it on purpose I bet they will figgure it out.

Their warranty says:
This unique warranty proves our commitment to the quality and reliability of every product we make.

If you are the original purchaser of any BDS product and it breaks, we will give you a new part. Period.

The No Fine Print warranty does not include shock and stabilizer cylinders.

I think I have...post 'em up copper! :D

How do you like the ride and the springs?

euclid - that's for pointing that out. I'll have to ask Rob at LO to clarify that for me.

Philos1 - So you put an extra 1" long lifted shackle? I've got 31" BKGs and don't want to upgrade for a while (until these wear out) - just trying to get my bearings on what the lift is gonna look like on mine.

I so confused

Oh, and Philos1 - Diggin' on that Von Dutch Flying eyeball. I was doing sketches last night on the monitor side of my apple laptop and was going to paint the wings around the apple logo and make it a bloodshot eye - but I'm not sold on it. Worked up a pretty sweet pinstripe scheme in pencil and like it much better - going to paint the whole titanium case SoCal primer black and do the pinstripes in white and either blue, red or orange...kind of like this... I'll post up the sketch if anyone wants to see it.

I can't post pics from my work laptop, will post up when i get home, about an hour.

They were bouncy at first, but much stiffer than stock. body roll reduced significantly. Now I do have a half inch lean to drivers side, but it leaned with the stock susp.

I had 10 scuba tanks in back last weekend... you could hardly tell they were there....when I did that with stock it looked like a low rider.

Looks great. Spring swap is next on the list but it'll be next year by the time I get saved up for the OME from AU.

Here's BDS with 32's....I'm sure some people are getting tired of seeing my truck in here...I say screw em'!

Still in planning stages. This is the first draft/sketch. (need to add to my list of "weird things in my house?) - The only part that I really, really like is the top portion of the pinstriping...

that's a cool idea, I've got a "line" on some cheap (5-6 bucks) pinstriping brushes here in LA (Carter Sexton on Laurel Canyon) they'll do the trick...
