Hey, I've basically decided to just order a used head from cruiserparts since I'm tired od being dragged around from cylinder head rebuilder to the next since they think they might have the head. I'll just order used and hope for the best! My question concerns casting numbers. The #s on my head are 61040 and 0710. I thought there were really only 2 different heads for the 2f. 1975-1981 and 1981-1987. The last place had 2 2f cylinder heads ready to go but both were different and differnt from mine as well (they called the machine shop that still has my cracked one) What gives? Are there really 4+ 2f castings? The last guy (moores cyl. heads) said the freeze plugs , air injection, and intakes were all different in one way or another between the 3 heads being compared, there for not so good for me. Also mentioned that the one's valves were much more seated on the head. Anyone have feedback on this. It sucks that the rebuilt ones were only about $125 more than a used one (except for 2 places that wanted $1300 and $1500+ for theirs)
