Some of this is new to me and some of which I have searched fact and other threads to find out.

So I have a 1979 2f and a cracked head, I also have a good 60051 cast head with the F stamped on the front (what appears to be a 1974 1.5F head) I am going to use which will increase the compression. I will need a 1974 head gasket correct, or will a 1979 head gasket still work in this application. Reason I ask is I have already ordered a 1979 OEM gasket kit.

Also if I had to switch out valves would the valved from the 1979 work on the 74head?

TIA

Greg

Normally, the rule is use the HG that corresponds w/ the head.

However, due to the bore size difference, there is a danger that the F head gasket could overhang the larger 2F cylinder. I would use the 2F HG to be safe.

Yes, the valves can be swapped.
