For the CV boot experts:
I am having my CV joints replaced for the second time in 3 years. (No time to do it myself, and if I'm being honest questionable expertise as well). This time, I finally noticed that both boots on both axles are significantly loose from the axles. One is just leaking, and is slightly pushed back from where it should be. The second is cracked. The third is cleanly ripped at the point of clamping (overtightened I guess). And it goes on. Part vendor is warrantying the axles, and doing me a favor there. I don't have a problem paying labor to replace.

Now for the iH8MUD question. What other suspension components should I have the guy investigate that could be causing accelerated boot wear? There's nothing that jumps out, and he may find it without prompting, but I'd be interested if anyone has any advice I can pass along.

Possibly pertinent details: OME medium that replaced the AHC apx 4 years ago, Diff drop installed at same time as lift, On road use almost exclusively since. Mild Mild trail riding only. 262K miles on odometer, with less than perfect maintenence.

Did you use OEM CVs at the last replacement?

Checking, not 100% sure I'm embarrassed to say, but they will be OEM this time

I just replacled my CV boots with a shop in Dallas. Shoot me a message if you want to discuss. I have the OME light shocks..

I can see you have a diff drop - which will help - but with a lift the boots have to articulate over a wider range which won't help matters. Inferior rubber from poor non OEM parts another potential reason

I'm thinking maybe they are aftermarket. They look like they degraded worse than the 13 year old boots I replaced on mine. The OEM boots are pretty stout. Beyond that, it sounds like the straps were overtightened, causing at least one of the tears.

Thanks for the thoughts, El Cid I'll dm you.

I've worked with Josh at Baertrax, and he's every bit as good as everyone says. After I ran into some roadblocks attempting a self install of the lift, he ended up doing it. Since he's awesome and therefore busy, the schedule never seems to work out bc the LX is my DD. I'll prob end up just dealing with the schedule and going back to Baertrax. Thanks all

+1 on Josh. Super guy. Had him do a quick spot weld on my rig while in a jam and he dropped everything to knock it out.

He's a great resource.

All the 100 owners need to meet up in DFW and have coffee and chat. I am willing to help wrench but have no place. Just moved into town in a apt and tools in Storeage or in 62 in TN.

You schedule it, I'll be there.
