Replaced both CVs the other weekend with parts from C-Dan. Thanks to Summit Cruiser for the pics and instructions it was a cake walk. Well not exactly a cake walk, but a relatively easy Saturday morning job. BTW - Pep Boys has a free loaner tool program that include pit-man arm pullers.

So instead of rebuilding the original CV's you just bought reman CV's from CDan? How much were they out of curiosity?

I just ordered from Beno the parts to completely rebuilding both front axles. I figured buying two new complete axles was a little overkill.

I have an old one torn down and sitting in a tub of brake cleaner this very moment. Putting it together tomorrow for a trail spare. There are some great write ups on this site for the DIY'er.

Is that Desert Yeti's old truck? Did you get rid of (or re-paint) the neon green accents. Aside from those, I thought it was an awesome rig!!

Edit: I see the green ring in your avatar. Sorry didn't mean to offend...

OEM form C-Dan was $351/per side. The previous owner had replaced passenger side with an aftermarket. The drivers side was toast. May not have been the cheapest route, but wanted the piece of mind when out camping with the family.

It is. No worries. I kind of like the green, but it is not for everyone. :D
