CV Axle removal (1 Viewer)

Anybody have a tip for pulling my axle. The boot broke and I need to replace it.

Rental tool from O'Reilly's isn't big enough to go around the axle.

Nevermind. Brass drift and big hammer did the trick. Still, there has to be a better way. I'm probably going to have to do the other side soon.

I usually use a slide hammer, I have one you can borrow.

Slide hammer I borrowed from O'Reilly didn't fit. I'll take you up on that for the other side. Apparently they both needed to be replaced. For now it's good enough for Hannah to take back to k-State.

2 pry bars worked for me.

wrap a piece of chain, braided cable, or synthetic winch line around the back side of it, and put a BFG in a loop on the other end. Then swing hard. Pops right out. I had one that was stuck and could not get it with pry bars, and this worked and was so easy.
