Howdy all. I have a 2004 LX470 and recently experienced a flapping/popping under the left front during accelerating RH turns. Suspected CV axle was bad. Diagnosis confirmed by shop (not Lexus, independent) and replaced. All fine for a few weeks, then more noise, same as before. Shop assumed it was passenger side and replaced that one (both remanufactured parts, probably a mistake). Did not fix the problem. Took it to Toyota shop, and three mechanics all said it was bad CV axle. So, replaced the Driver side again, and all seemed good. That was two months ago, and today, during an accelerating LH turn, not RH as before, I hear the same noise, and sounds like it's coming from passenger side, but can't be certain. Is it possible that I'm just suffering for the use of inferior parts, or could there be another issue that I'm missing? I've read these forums for years, and have benefited from a lot of the knowledge out there. I'm not a mechanical dummy, but this one's above my pay grade. All help appreciated.
