Hi All,

Have been a member for a while but fairly quite on the posting front. I am please to announce that after finding out my CV's are buggered on my LC and getting quotes that would require you to wear a suit and tie at your local bank managers desk, its time to grab the bull by the horns and give it a go myself.

Did a lot of research on here, there are plenty of tutorials to follow. So going to order the gear and whilst in there (apparently my brakes are gone/going too) will change to new rotors and pads. After a lot of thought and consideration to whether to go slotted or not, seems to be a bit of a ford/Holden kinda thing. have decided to give the slotted a crack.

Would just like to thank all those people who posted awesome pictures and tutorials for newbies like me. I figure the worst that could happen is I cant finish it or break something and have to call in the professional. But the bonus is that if something happens on the track I'd feel a lot more confident in fixing it if I've tried in the controlled environment of my shed.

Well wish me luck and I'll keep you posted to let you know how I get on.

Gavin

Hi All,

a bit of an update:

got the drivers side knuckle broken down, cleaned and ready for new bits. Went pretty well. will post up some pics later. but the question I'd like to ask is the axle seal was clearly buggered and it had oil leaking out and it was all removed. I stuffed a rag in the hole whilst I wait for the parts to arrive prior to fitting. Would you recommend topping up the diff oil after the installation has been complete or do a complete drain and re-fill. Just in case an contaminated found their way in there....???

Thanks in advance.

Drain and fill the differential while there after you install the new seals and axles. Won't take long. There are plenty of threads to lead you along the way. When finished you'll wonder way you were worried at all.
