CUMMINS 4 cylinder, ISB170 Allison 1000 Transmission I found this truck on a farm that has very few miles on it and it has been wrecked and cut apart but the motor and trans all work.

Has anyone ever done this swap? Would it work like the Frito Lay 4cy cummins swap. I also found an 05 Duramax with Allison trans and tcase for $3500 with 45k miles?

That transmission is very tall. Not sure if it would work in a 55. Chevy had to raise the cab higher off of the frame to accommodate the height of the transmission.

The Allison 1000 is whats behind the Duramx. Your ISB/1000 combo is in the UPS and other med duty trucks.

I have an 05 duramax in one of my trucks and that would be quite a ride in that little FJ55!!!

With the Cummins combo what would I have to do to get my Tcase to work? I'll have to check but I have a married NP205. I'd probably just have to use the tranny that I have instead of the allison.

I believe the GM 4x4 runs a NV263 T-case on the back of the allison. What year is the ISB?

The ISB i believe is a 99 or 2000. I really like the Idea of taking the durmax with everything complete with trans and tcase take the body off and make it fit. I don't have easy access to my FJ55 right now it is at the body shop at Boise State the students are going to town.

I am really debating weather to do it or not, it has a fairly fresh 350 in it. Would love to do bio diesel or veggie oil or something along those lines just because I don't want to keep buying mid east oil.
