I had a chance to go down to NC and wheel with some MUDders that I have come to know on this site. It was about an 18 hour drive and worth every minute of it. While up on the mountain I ran into truck problems that have yet to be solved. Up at 5700 ft my brakes gave out and all I had was some very weak rears to get me down and eventually all the way home.

Here is the link to the thread which starts out talking about setting up the weekend and ends with pics from myself and others.

Hope you enjoy

yes it was really nice, The first day there was cloud cover at the higher elevations but the second day things cleared up. Everyone was genuinely glad we came and made a point to introduce themselves and welcome us to the group. The wheeling was incredible with long 3 hour + drives and then camping on the mountain. I had brakes problems on the second day and had to get the truck back to the cabin.

We've been invited back and will likely take them up on the offer again.

looks like a lot of fun Rick! i take it that there was a lot to explore around those parts
sucks about your breaks any clue what it could be?

If you look in the 80s section I posted some observations about the Man-a-fre SS lines I have. The PS frame/axle actually bent the bracket and the DS broke the strain relief on the line. They seem to be too short for full droop situations and cause a problem where air can get into the calipers. I'm calling Slee on Monday to get a set of his which should be the correct length since his 4" springs are on my truck.
