Hi guys,

We recently picked up an 02 LC.

Its our first Toyota so I'm not overly familiar with the local dealers as far a service. I work in Stamford so Stamford and Greenwich Toyota are close to work. On the other hand, Milford, New Haven and Westport are close to home. We've actually had good experiences with the Greenwich Lexus dealer but I'm not sure it would make sense to take a Toyota to them.

Anyone have a recommendation or even a "stay clear" for any of these ? Any other I should consider ?

I'll eventually have to get my timing belt done since I don't have any record of it getting done, so I'm trying to get a feel for the most reliable service.

Thanks
Oz

If you want to stick with a dealer, we took our new-ish Toys to A1 Toyota in New Haven (Camry and then a Prius). They are very upfront about what they're doing, and are generally nice folks.

Close to Rt 15/Merrit if that's convenient for you.

I've got to give a nod to A1 also. I am no fan of any dealers but these guys are reasonable and have done all the warranty work on the other Toyotas for me, don't use the on line service thing. They did try to sell me a cabin air filter............once. Read up on what you want done and let them know you're shopping.

I did buy most of the parts for my '02 timing belt there, they give a club discount on parts, probably $800 in parts alone. Did it myself, wouldn't recommend that unless you're a seriously determined DIYer. Like Rick said, water pump is mandatory, mine was leaking at 100k a few years ago. Also did the starter, and all the idlers while in there. Didn't bother with the cam seals.

Hack...lol

Thanks for the replies guys. I would love to be able to do it myself, and even if I could, with two little ones I don't have the block of time to take it on.

I'll check out A-1, they're only about 20 minutes from me.

Thanks
Oz
