ok. Folks. Let’s stop with the thread derail.

I’ll delete my posts and things about other trucks.

It’s utterly important that this thread is about the turbo system and what Johnny and his team have contributed to the LC community
.
Are we not talking turbo kit? You could be putting a 1fz with a turbo kit in the square body for all we know lol

Bronze Cerakote is for making the peasents bow down to your turbo supremacy and your abundance of flagrant fun token spending

It looks badass, straight up

For any of the Hot side parts - jpipe, downpipe, turbine housing, exhaust manifolds, exhaust manifold heat shields - if going with the Cerakote brand we have had good results with the V and Glacier Series. If you go to their website and filter by temp choose 1800F. Also note you do not want to choose any of the colors that fall under their “High Thermal Emissivity” filter. That’s bad, we’re trying to keep heat in, not radiate it. The “low thermal emissivity” are the best about not radiating heat but come in odd colors

Cold side parts - I think pretty much any of the Cerakote colors would stand up, some are better than others for being a thermal barrier. For the most part any cold side parts being coated are for vanity

Turbo is done and gauges are wired! Primed her and then she fired right up! Will get a video uploaded to YouTube and I’ll post it up shortly. Hoping I can get over to an exhaust shop tomorrow 🫪 also getting a fitting in the mail tomorrow and then I’ll hook up the boost line.

Its crazy how good turbos act as a muffler

So, I buttoned up the coolant leak and went for a drive. There is a very steep and long hill near my home. It joins into a loop so I ran the loop several times. She reached 7 psi.

More faster she was than any 80 I ever drove! Absolutely satisfying performance!

Took her for her first rip over to the exhaust shop this morning. She boogies with just a downpipe, totally different truck and driving experience. She is much quieter with the exhaust hooked up. But she still rips, less turbo noise so one day I’ll go full 3” I am so stoked with how she turned out. What an absolute blast to drive. 4.88, 37s, part time kit, bumpers, back seats, drawers, spare, rtt and awning she’s pretty chunk and she moves now.
Sweet new stickers add even more hose ponies😎
