The other benefit is that you don't get treated like sh*t just for having Cal plates 😆🤪😂

i appologize for kinda hijacking the thread. but another nice thing about MT is you can get PERM plates. IDK if thats a thing in other states, but after the car is 15 years old i think, you pay one time fee and your plates NEVER EXPIRE.

notice we both have these

I can't find any videos of the system installed and running. Can you link some videos of your turbo'd truck doing a pass or hill climb? I'd love to see and hear it through all the gears if possible. Sorry if I have missed the video links in the thread. I've gone through the thread a couple of times and can't seem to find them... Thanks

It does hi light options for people that are interested in a turbo kit, but have other concerns.

Agreed time to get back to our regular programming😎

I will try and get a video but I am not the best camera man 😅. I've tried many times and each time it sucks haha not much to hear or see inside of the cab but I'll get it going through the gears on a highway merge in this afternoon.

i might know a guy who knows about this kinda stuff.

Register a single member LLC with the MT secretary of state and transfer the title into the LLC. And you'll need a registered agent in MT for the SMLLC. but then you can register your vehicle in MT and the state of Montana has zero emissions laws. I believe they have services that allow you to do the DMV stuff online.

OR just buy a vacation house in Kalispel. Either works

Here's some videos!

What @mudgudgeon said.

Our turbos a bit different than the BW that you have as we have an AN 4 fitting with a 1 mm restrictor so we aren't flooding the turbo like yours is but realistically if in your case you are seeing proper pressure there isn't anything to worry about with extra oil capacity. These things already take a ton and the sump is always well submerged.

I don't think "flooding" is what is happening... BW states to NOT use a restrictor on their turbos (though I thought that was weird, they were adamant).

Have you seen how much oil comes out of the oil sending unit orifice with the engine running? I don't recommend it but I've seen it and you can pump all your oil out extremely fast haha. Compared to the turbos we use your BW is definitely getting a lot more oil hence my "flooded" term since there is no restrictions of any type in your system.

Never supposed to use a restrictor with journal bearing turbo's but with a ball bearing like we use a restrictor is mandatory. Since there is no restrictions the turbo is seeing all of the engine oil pressure and flow on the BW

Agreed! Just wanted to make sure the differences were known. This kit looks rad. I was an early adopter of the "other" kit and have made a lot of modifications to it. Many of which look like you guys caught!

The oem hard line feeding oil to my hdj80 turbo cracked, and puked a s***-tonne of oil fast!! Must have let go a few blocks from home.
Noticed a strong smell of oil when I parked. After seeing i had an oil leak, I restarted the engine to verify where the leak was and made a huge mess in seconds!

Rough guess - how many hours would a competent cruise shop bill for install?
A competent shop should land somewhere between 20-30 hours on installing this. A lot of it depends how nicely the exhaust plays.

Any opinions on gearing with 35s with the turbo?
Debating a regear, but perhaps I should put that cash in the turbo fund 🤔

Seems like the lower highway RPM would actually be preferred if power was up a bit.
