Matt, are these the same bolts you and I discussed? If so, we're you able to get a second set?

Yes, they are the FJ80 manual flywheel bolts. I bought two sets.

Started building the transmission on Monday. I have the wrong reverse gear.

Just another $100

Made big progress this weekend.

Ordered correct reverse gear and another bearing for the NV4500, ordered two parts from Advance Adapters, a bushing and bearing both mean to be pilot bearings for Ford small-block to NV4500 swaps. The bushing matches the Land Cruiser pilot bearing dimensions (besides larger ID) the bearing is 3/16" longer then the bushing bought both incase the bearing's extra length causes it to not work.

Also built splitcase and, and made brackets for the triple shifters. Just need heims and tube to make the linkages and shifters themselves. Pictures in next post.

Tapped for NPT fittings so I can extend my breathers to the engine bay

The whole combo on the Harbor Freight welding table. Nice testament to its strength. Getting it up there by myself was not easy either.

Clutch fitment checked.

And a nice surprise, the Cruiser throwout bearing fits on the MV4500 PERFECTLY. Like what the heck.

Also made a bracket off the side of the trans for the triple sticks to pivot on. Has a captive nut that the bolt threads into. Those are bronze flange bushings pressed into steel sleeves.

Modified the factory Hi-low linkage to so the shifter can go up-and-down instead of left-to-right.

And welded a tab on the 2wd-4wd linkage so I can bolt a heim to it.
Bought some nylon bushings. We'll see how long they last if they don't I can just go from a 1/4 to a 5/16 bolt.

The whole thing. Need to buy heims and tube to make te linkages.

Thanks Ryan. Definitely feel way more confident in my bracket-making skills then I used to.

I tried making my own twin sticks when I was doing my H41 swap a few years ago and it was pathetic, i don't think I even posted about it. These triple sticks are going to come out way better.

Good deal. I definitely feels good knowing that you made something that will be going on your truck. Feels even better when someone asks who made it and your response is " I made it".

Got the correct 35 tooth reverse gear and another mainshaft bearing (I don't have the proper puller so I have to cut the one I press on on off)

Working on swapping it over and building out the rest of the transmission now.

You can see the difference in diameter that was causing the issue

Stopped by machine shop and they are about a week out.

Ordered:
-Bottom end engine gaskets
-Remflex manifold gasket
-Used MAF 2F long tube headers and collector (don't hate I know they aren't as good as 3FE manifolds :flipoff2:)
-LCE weld-on O2 sensor bungs
-NWF PTO covers for NV4500 (I really just needed the gaskets)
-Order from McMaster to do my extended breathers.
-Advance Adapters pilot bearing and bushing for swapping NV4500 into Ford small-block
-and maybe some other stuff I'm not remembering

Also finished the floor mods. Painted with some brush-on! :hillbilly:
Wishing now I had done some 1" 45degree corners on the top so it's not so boxy but whatever. Carpet's and center console is going to cover it. Speaking of, does anyone know a good source to buy a big sheet of decent grey auto carpet?

Pilot bearing comparison. Stock Land Cruiser is on the left. The question is whether the extra length of the bearing on the right causes issue. Will test fit with junk block/crank.

Anodized aluminum manifold ore-tapped for 1/8 and 1/4 NPT from McMaster. $18. Got a little crazy with the teflon tape and the label maker. Lol. Need to find a good place to put it in the engine bay, any ideas?

Also broke my clutch slave bracket by knocking motor over on the floor (lol) when I pulled it so I took some time and welded that back together.

Killer idea. you running that into an air cleaner assembly? Or use a separate filter? Already added to my McMaster Carr shopping cart. Thanks

Behind schedule for an update, been super busy but been making progress with the project as well.

For reference, 2F and 3F rod bolts are totally different for anyone looking to upgrade their 3F/3FE rod bolts via the ARP Supra upgrade.

Cool rig! I can't believe i just found this thread now. I went a similar route with my 203 doubler shifters, I used some solid 11/16" aluminum bar and drilled and tapped it for fine 3/8ths QA1 heims from Summit Racing. I used nylon washers between the steel sleeves that my shifters pivot on. I was cheap and bought all RH thread ends and jam nuts.

Although mine is a TH350-Np203-1970 Fj55 tcase

I'm just about done with my set. All stainless, all TIGed. I need to move my 203 lower link up high on the shifter so there's less throw but it's pretty much done. RH and LH heims for adjustability. This is my third attempt at building shifters. First two are not worthy of posting...
