I ordered a couple of the Cruiserhead light switches off of Amazon a few days ago and just got them in. They look pretty cool I think, and much more of a factory look without spending 60 bucks a switch like the Toyota ones. I am however, having an issue getting one of them working.

I'm running a set of Lightforce 170's. I never liked the switch provided by Lightforce so I used a Rigid Industries switch for the last year or so. Wanting a more factory look I got the new switch.

The issue I'm running into is the new switch uses 4 wires, one connected to the source, one connected to the relay or accessory, one connected to the dash lights and one connected to ground. The Lightforce switch only requires 2 wire, a basic power and ground.

I've tried running the power every way I can think to the four wire switch, and while I the switch lights up when it should and goes dark when it should, I can not get it to turn the lights on. Anyone have any ideas?

I've included the instructions on the back of the switch package.

I even contacted Cruiserheads but the gentleman I got on the phone definitely wasn't one of their installers and couldn't tell me how to do it. Seeing as how they used a picture of a Lightforce lights on the switch I would think the switch would work for these lights. Please help :smile

3 and 4 seem self explanatory, with 3 being powered when your dash lights are if you've taken power from a circuit that is only powered when your dash lights are one, and 4 completing the ground on that circuit so the light on the switch comes on on when you turn on your head lights so that your dash lights come on. One and two look like the switch itself, so it can either be used to trip a relay (best), or you can run your aux power through it and to your aux device. I usually run fused power through my relay (85-86 terminals) to the switch in the cab, in this case wire 1, and from the switch to ground on wire 2. That way to trip the relay there is only one wire coming through the firewall. Assuming you've got a meter of some kind, check for continuity between 1 and 2 dependent on having the switch engaged.
