I am leading a run from Fruita to Toelle (SLC) Sept 2-7 to attend Cruiserfest. We will be heading up through Dinosaur NM, Browns Park, the Uintas and more. Plan to meet up with other groups heading to CF from five locations then caravan to Toelle. For more info Cruiserfest.com.

We still have six openings on this run. This will a true exploratory trip as I just can't take time for a prerun. Some map research and work with Goigle Earth and Gaia will get us through. Getting lost a couple of times could be fun. The fall colors in the high country should be awesome.

For more info and to sign up go to Cruiserfest.com

I'm signed up to do the trip but I feel like my truck is hard up for some repairs. In it's current condition I'm hesitant to take it on the long journey because it might hold things up a bit. The trails around CO I've been running all season have really taken their toll. I've got to be wise how I spend what little money I have, so I'll keep you posted whether or not I'll be able to make the trip. I may have to drive my car straight out on Friday.

There is no way I can get off of work right now. The best I could probably do is leave Friday and meet you guys at the park but wonder if it is worth it. Seems like the most fun part would be getting there. Do you think it would it be worth it just to enjoy the comraderie, camping, seminars, etc.?

Sorry to hear that. Anything I can do to help you on the repairs so that you can make the trip?
It's more of a money thing at this point. I'm sick of patching everything to limp along a little farther. My truck needs a some down time while I cushion my spending budget to make sure things are fixed correctly for the winter. If I take my truck on this trip the fuel cost alone will set me back but moreover if I have more repair issues come up I'm shooting myself in the foot. It's bumming me out a little but I have to be smart about it. If anyone is interested I'd be willing to transfer my registration to another truck and ride along. If nothing else I'll get myself to the event on Friday.

To Dan and Burt: frankly last years event was a let down after the fun of the long trip to Toelle. Seeing the Toyota museum was great and meeting others was nice but overall I would not make the drive just for the stuff going on there. But they have added a few things to the program so can't really say how this year will go.

Planning on doing much of the first days run this Sat or Sun as a prerun. I will be running north from Mack up to Bonanza via some sketchy dirt roads and want to confirm it's all ok. Anyone wanting to tag along? Best to call me at two one zero six OO six.

Planning on leaving tomorrow morning and heading out to MacDonalds in Fruita for breakfast, then picking up the dirt NW of Mack, on to Bonanza, Dino NM, Desolation Canyon, Nine Mile Canyon then working my way back to Rabbit Valley for Monday night. Posting all this just in case I don't show up Tuesday morning. ;-)

We all just returned from Cruiserfest 2014! What an awesome time and a great facility at the Miller Motorsports Park! Greg Miller and his Staff are top notch and put on a great time. Thanks to Ace for leading a great trail ride the week before our arrival in Tooele! I am looking forward to Cruiserfest 2015 as I did not want this one to end. It was great meeting all the other Cruiserheads who love their vehicles just as much as I do.

If you have any interest in attending next year, start making plans now!

Thanks to Keith and John for joining the run to Toelle. Glad you guys enjoyed it. Hopefully we will have a few more on the GJ run next year. Everything seemed a bit better this year but my favorite parts was light winds and no race cars screening around the track for most of the weekend. The worst part was seeing how much damage one could do to an FJ Cruiser by running the rock race at a crazy speed. FJCs were not meant to fly.

Some teaser pics for those of you considering next year's event! The 3rd pic is of a Pony Express Station along our route where we met up with the group from Idaho. The last pic is from inside of Greg Miller's Museum at the Miller Motorsports Park.

Some more teaser shots! A couple of FJ25's in his collection. The beige FJ40 is an August 1983 build date. Local guy in the Salt Lake City area owns it and bought it in that area. Only has 34,00 on it. Lat pic is a Bandierante FJ40 body from Brazil. Apparently it was pulled from the assembly line and ended up there on display.
