Ok, this morning at about 8:30 I saw a white FZJ exiting the 5 southbound onto Crown Valley Parkway. It had an original Slee front bumper with winch, a Kaymar rear with swingout, and a Yakima basket style rack with towers and cross bars. It had factory alloys some 285's and I think an OME lift. A woman was driving it but didn't see me say hi. Anyone? DirtyRiceJoe?

it wasn't me... mine is black

Roll TIDE!

Oh, that will be easy!

Check the 80's tech section and look for a mention of a crash or a major failure.

Lots of those threads start with "My wife called me while driving my 80 today and.......)

Am i wrong??? :flipoff2:

I wish it were mine! Except for 285's and a "damage multiplier" brushguard, I'm still "mall-rated" (can't even get my factory diff-locks to lock :crybaby:). Maybe this coming year I can start putting it together.

Best wishes for a great holiday season, Merry Christmas, and happy New Year to you all!

If you need any help when you get the time PM me and I will be happy to help mod or fix the lockers. :)

I hate to ask, but have you "exercised" them? I couldn't get mine to lock for the longest, but once I worked the switches over (and over and over and over), I don't have a problem now. Actually, if I let them sit for an extended time, they'll stall for the first few tries, but after a few works of the switch, they go on. They get real sticky for some reason. It literally took me ten minutes of going back and forth to get them to engage when I first started using them. I thought they were broken, but they eventually perked up.

Thanks for the suggestion. I "exercised" them until I was fatigued! Seriously - large circles, tight circles, right, left, rear, front & rear, multiple occasions, multiple surfaces (sand, dirt, wet parking lot), alone, with my son, one eye closed, etc.... (I know, I stopped being serious - I can can only do that "serious" thing for so long) Anything one could do without tools or knowledge, I tried. Which leads me to...

Thanks, Mo. I really appreciate the offer, and I will definitely take you up on it!

What trail was this?

Hey Guys.

A few years back I did a run out in the Silverwood Lake area (east of the Cajon Pass I-15). It wasn't the Cleghorn trail. It was further east, and I remember at the beginning of the run, we had to follow along a very rocky riverbed for about 200 yards or so, that was a bit of a challenge. The riverbed pretty much followed parallel to the road, then it turned left and once past that, the trail wound up the side of the mountain. There were several other trails back up there, looping around here and there. We were up there for about 4 hours and ended up coming back in the dark.

Does anyone here remember that run? Do any of you know what trail I'm talking about? The unique feature of this trail was that rock garden at the beginning.
It was a fun trail and I'd love to run it again.

Sounds like Pilot Rock trail? 2n33.

Dana, why don't you start another thread instead of asking it in the middle of a ongoing thread? Im not a stickler of rules by any stretch of the imagination.. but it would seem to me you'd get more responses for what you're looking for.

Yeah, you're right. I don't know what the heck I was thinking. Sorry about that!

I think it was Pilot Rock Trail, that sounds like it might be it.

No, it wasn't deep creek, that is another one out there, a bit further north and west of Pilot Rock.

Anyone on here up for running any of these trails in the near future?

You quoted it yourself, but you didn't read it?

I think you would get a much better response if you started your own thread. There are quite a few knowledgeable people in this group and on this board that would be happy to help you out and maybe even join you. ;)
