Cruiser Parts

I was just in the Carson City PNP today (Sunday).

Cash for Clunkers provided some cruisers for parts. They ended up in the Carson City PNP. There is a 62 and an 80. Someone took the knuckles from the front axle on the 62, but pretty much everything else is there.

The front axle is completely gone on the 80 (1994).

Because they are cash for clunkers, the motors are painted pink, so that means you can't take anything off of the motors, but you can take anything else.

Ill be heading down for that rear axle tomorrow. Im gonna try and get off work early so I have ample time to do it.
x mas lights ended up being an all day affair. How I DO love my wife!

No problem. I would have tried to grab the rear axle, but I was in the Mazda, so no way to haul an axle.

No worries!
Gonna try and get off work early to get it. I figure that I can just undo the whole shebang from the shackles and take it ALL.
That way I wont have to mess around with trying to pull the u bolts and such.,
Since I need the springs any way...


Hope its still there by tomorrow!

GOT IT!!!!!
I LUCKED OUT actually.
Turns out there were TWO 60's out there. The one that Jack had mentioned, and another a few rows up from it. The rear axle was laying under the rig. All I had to do was DC the e brake (which I took for good measure).
I found that one first, then I found the one that jack had seen. I attempted to get the rear springs out of it, but I was running out of day light and the shackles and hanger pins were really seized in the bushings....imagine that!
So I got my rear axle and life is definitely GOOD!
Now all I need is a 60 series springs.

Really frickin excited actually. Things are starting to move in a FUN direction on the 40. Almost about time to paint the tub so she'll look like something soon.

Sweet junkyard finds!

Last time I was at the Reno P&P, the chainfall on the A-frame slipped and a D70U slammed my thigh.... I didn't think it was all that bad til I got home and realized my whole thigh was bruised and the skin had checked out on me!! Axles+junkyard+ME=OUCH!

Im not in a major hurry, so if its an inconvenience, we dont have to worry about it RIGHT NOW.
Im on call, so if its within 30 min of the hospital, Itd be good.
