Ordered some sweet Cruiser crap from Mark at Cruiser Crap.
Finsihed off my tire carrier nicely.
(I realize that this is not an original idea. I'm pretty excited about it anyway. Will work well for post-ski tailgate breaks.)

You've placed it in an ergonomically sound location. It's good to see that you are concerned for your friends' and family's safety.

Waste of money. 80's come with two (2) factory bottle cap removers, which also double as handy lower mounts for the rear hatch shocks. Shame on you, thinking you could improve on such a finely engineered automobile.

Doh!
I can't decide if that's two thumbs down or just one.

I'm certain somebody here will appreciate this modification, besides me.

Wow. I thought all bottles in the States were twist off caps.

WOW - what a nice install! I can't remeber...did you order the right or left handed model? :D

Just for posting such a nice right up - Iam sending you one of my "Land cruiser" bottle opener keychains!

Universal.
I'll post photos and details of the install if folks would like. Probably a 3 bannana job.

Landtank, opening the tire carrier does serve as a drunk-test...

I have one in nearly the same place. A+ mod, and easily accomplished with an obvious reward afterward. I just received the new stainless model as well, and it needs to find a home on my FJ40. Definitely worth the extra $5.

As a future project for Mark or Doug-how about a mountable "Screw-Pull" device for opening wine bottles?

Ya know, I read my reply later and thought it might sound like I was downing you. I wasn't, I was going for irony. You know, by putting it up high like that, users will have less lower back strain, wrist fatigue . . . for a bottle opener.

Two things come to mind. I don't write very well, and if I have to explain the joke, it wasn't funny.

Sorry.

Sorry Hayes but that is the lamest mod that has ever been posted to the 80 section.

I pefer Doug's bottle opener.

Lol

It definitely could be improved on though. My suggestion..., move it up a bit and install a cap catch can below it.

Yeah, but then you gotta can of bottle caps rattling around...

I think it's proper to have both types of openers! If your swinging in the hammoch and the effort to get up and use the carrier mounted might be too large a task then you have to have a secondary system within reach of the mini cooler. Also, you have to finish the job you started! It unthinkable to have to bend over to pick up bottle tops....get a catch can! In any case....more research needed!

Well I can't do all your thinking for you.... back over to the orange dot thread where you don't have to hold somebody's hand to come up with a good, usable and functional mod. :D.

Is that a 100 or 80?? because your hilift mount is backwards if its an 80.
