The Black Sheep Squadron is for those still going to Moab but not fully participating in CruiseMoab activities/trail runs...

I've had a reservation at the Moab Rim Campark for a while and thats where I'll be: Wednesday - Sunday

My trip plan is:

- Thursday, Dome Plateau; 9am Staging area to right off rt128 (look for NyNomad Flag on tan FJ)
- Friday, 7mile Rim; 9am staging area off HW191
- Saturday Geyser Pass loop (questionable at this time)

Thats my plan. You're more than welcome to jump on my itinerary or do your own thing!

I needed this last year when I didn’t get registered. Dome Plateau on Wednesday sounds like a good warm up run for my son and I in the 40. Is there anything major on it without

What vehicle and and mods? I've never driven it but based off YouTube vids i dont think it would be a problem

I think you'll be fine.. im on a 230kMile 08FJC on worn 33's and blown out suspension

Only rated a 4... maybe a 5 now. I dont know how old their discretions are because Top of The World is slidding into 6.5 / 7 territory with erosion

Hells Revenge was the Toughest I ran last year. I probably wouldn’t be looking to go past there difficulty wise. I’ve spent years getting the 40 legitimately functional. I understand the danger of driving it off road but I’m not a tear up the cruiser intentionally kind of guy. I like Gambler 500 events for that. I’ll beat the s*** of a ‘96 Tahoe. I’ve seen me do it. 🤣

For me to do hells revenge again I'll have to take the rtt off.. which will probably happen now with the new dog.

I did all of Dome in my 3rd gen runner, in 2wd a few years ago.... Very mild

I will have to amend my itinerary. My reservation is for Wednesday through Sunday but i do plan on driving out and camping somewhere that Tuesday night. Where, i just dont know yet, but more than likely somewhere down along Chicken Corner. I will report back soon...

By erosion you mean guys trying to take their foresters and Cherokees places they shouldn't go and digging it out

We try to keep it up to date... We generally follow what EJS rates things as.
TOW for me is easy. I got a mostly stock LX570 (sliders and AT tires) through with only a few scratches on the stock bumpers. That was doing the full loop too.

TOW will be interesting to see. I’ve heard everything from horror stories of a guy who flopped his rig on it last year at Cruise Moab to guys who took the family grocery getter up there fairly easily. In fairness the grocery getter was a triple locked 80 series on 33’s.
no one flopped on TOW during Cruise Moab last year to my knowledge....
The only flop that got reported last year was on Behind the Rocks. Lee of Solve Function was the culprit.
