We finally got enough trail leaders (more on that below), and we are pleased to announce that registration for the 21st annual Cruise Moab opened yesterday morning March 1st at 7:00AM MST! Anyone who tried to register uninvited before we officially opened will have to go back and register again. It is not fair to those who waited until we officially opened to have people jump in front of them and hog up the spots on the trails.

A major change from past years, is that we got all our trail leaders committed FIRST before we opened registration. Then, only offered trails that already had a leader for that day. This took more time than we had hoped, but hopefully will result in a better overall experience for everyone.

Cruise Moab - Toyota 4x4 event in Moab, UT

30 days after registration opens, registration will increase from $175 to $199.

This year's event will be from Tuesday, May 1st through Sunday May 6th. Our headquarters HAS MOVED. We will be at Kane Creek Campground. This is primitive camping! There is no cell service and no internet! There is no requirement that you stay there if you don't want to, it is just the epicenter of the event. Click here to reserve a campsite at Kane Creek Campground, and use the coupon code CruiseMoab2018 for 20% off your camping fee. Please check the FAQ page if you have any questions, and if they are not answered there please email registration@cruisemoab.com or call Jeff Zepp at (303) 674-2386.

The schedule will be the same as the last couple of years with the overnight runs:

Tuesday - Kokopelli Run Starts (3 Days 2 Nights - limit 14 rigs!)
Wednesday - San Rafael Swell Run Starts (2 days 1 night - limit 20 rigs), Registration, Safety Inspection, Hell’s Revenge Night Run!!!
Thursday - Guided Trail Runs, Vendor Night
Friday - Guided Trail Runs, Dinner, Raffle
Saturday - Guided Trail Runs
Sunday - Clean up and go home

We are keeping registration the same as it has been for the past seven years for the first 30 days: $175 + BLM fees, which are a straight pass-through. We are also passing through the $25/registrant food costs for the overnight runs. Remember, Rising Sun doesn't make a dime on Cruise Moab. All proceeds are used to improve the event and donated to Land Use organizations.

Be advised that you must be a current TLCA member to register. We could not have this event without our affordable TLCA insurance, it is a TLCA sanctioned event and therefore you must be a TLCA member. It's only $35.

I am chairing the committee this year. I am doing trail assignments and registration again this year. If you have any questions, please contact at the email above. Please do not PM me here with questions about Cruise Moab. Feel free to join the Cruise Moab thread.

Note that NO ONE is confirmed until you get your confirmation email. A lot of people are going to get moved around, and a lot of people who tried to register before we were open are going to have to go to the back of the line because they butted in before we were open.

What kind of time frame is there on confirmations?

What kind of time frame is there on confirmations?

Most years it is mid-March. Since we already have our trail leaders lined up, it should only be a couple weeks or around the same time frame.

When we registered the runs would say “10 spots left” for example, so That should mean that you are on that run correct? Then it would say x-spots left on waiting list or 0 spots left, so once all the trails are filled why would people get moved around. Thx’s

No one is confirmed to be on a particular trail on a particular day until they receive their confirmation email with their trail assignments. There are many reasons to move people around, but probably less so this year since we only offered trails that had leaders committed to lead them. As an example of moving people, I already have a half a dozen requests from registrants to change to a different trail!

I also have a couple trails where the trail leader hasn't registered yet and if the trail is already full that means somebody has to get bumped.

We work hard to accommodate everyone's requests and try hard for everyone to get what they want, and we appreciate your understanding when we can't. We are sure you are going to have an awesome time regardless.

Susan and I have been confirmed for the Kokopelli trail run this year. Is there going to be a thread for those other people doing this trail to meet and greet, or does such a thread already exist? If anyone reading this is doing Kokopelli, perhaps you can reply and maybe we can get something going.
All the best,
Michael Jefferson

Hi Stuparman,
Darned if I know. Perhaps writing jeff Zepp a note (he appears to be the head of registration) would help. I recieved an email with my confirmation several days ago.
Regards,
Michael

I just got done sending out the (almost) last of the confirmations. I had two guys who asked for the same 2 trails for all 3 days, and have emails sent to them. Thank you all for your patience, just when we thought we were on top of things we had a huge glitch in the event come up which, we believe we have handeled, but took resources (time) away frown sending out confirmations.
